Nelijärve – activities and memories all year round
Our story begins in the first half of the last century, when President Päts decided to create a tourist resort near Tallinn. Not far from Aegviidu, an hour’s train or car ride from the capital, it was considered the perfect place, because Mother Nature had already done much of the work. Beautiful lakes, berry-rich dry boreal forests, hiking trails amidst heather-scented hills, rolling hills and esker ridges. We have gone by many different names over the decades. During Estonia’s first period of independence, we were known under the name Turistide Kodu or Tourist Home in English. In the ensuing era, we were referred to as tourist base “Turbaza No 314”. Today, we are known as Nelijärve Holiday Centre, with four lakes, four seasons in all their splendour and four different accommodation options. Nelijärve is the birth place of and inspiration for the famous Estonian song Vana klaver (in English: the old piano) that has attracted thousands of people to the dance floor.

Four different accommodation options
Guests at Nelijärve Holiday Centre can choose from four different accommodation options: Pääsu Villa, the Lakehouse, holiday houses or our comfortable hostel. We can accommodate up to 268 people at a time all year round. Experience has shown that you can fit a lot of willing people into one holiday centre – thanks to the endless tent sites on the soft mossy carpet around the premises, we have had many more people enjoying a good night’s sleep and a cosy home-cooked breakfast. Nelijärve Pub offers meals for every palate, whether you are driving along Piibe road, backpacking on the hiking trails or cycling on the cycle and pedestrian track.
We cater for birthday parties, weddings, corporate parties, summer and winter retreats, sportsmen and women, children’s camps and schoolchildren, as well as other large and small groups all year round, according to your wishes.
A short walk away from Lake Purgatsi are the saunas of the Lakehouse and Beach house, where you can take care of your body and soul.
