The World of Sound
Lots of interaction, listening and combining. The most resourceful and observant team wins. The game is played with radio transmitters
The World of Sound is a fun and simple team game involving navigating by ear. This game is perfect for teams who have no desire for quizzes and running around, or for teams who are looking for a game that is fun even when some participants have a weaker command of the language used. This will be a game unlike any other you have ever played.
Legend has it that radio scanners were unearthed from the room used by university scientists at Glehn Castle which allow you to hear sounds from the past. These special devices are able to pick up sounds from different eras and locations all across Estonia. Conspiracy theorists are said to have tried (and failed) to unravel the mystery of this world of sound, but it remains unsolved to this day.
And now you have the chance to come and listen to the mysterious sounds and put your team to the test to see who can make the most sense of them!
The mysterious sounds we are looking for can only be heard with special equipment. It feels like augmented reality – you walk around the landscape and hear different sounds from different times. Because people hear, perceive and understand sounds differently, your success will come down to being able to carefully divide activities and roles in your team and agree on a common position.
Now pay attention! What was that sound? A creaking door or a breaking cabbage leaf? A dog running, or could it be a wolf? Some people instantly recognise the sound of a cordless drill while others might be familiar with the sound of a mouse click or the swish of an accordion.
All team members have to give their all! To be successful, you will need to divide your team into listeners, route planners and writers who log the sounds. The game is very fun and much easier than reading through this text.
We can organise the World of Sounds in Estonian, English, Finnish and Russian
